Growing Girl

Savanah is growing so much, and so fast! At her 1 month appt on tuesday she weighed 8 lbs 14 oz. A big difference from her 2 week visit only weighing 6 lbs 9 oz! Her cheeks are really starting to fill out more :) She is such a sweet baby and has really started focusing on people more when they talk to her like she is really listening to what they are saying. We have had some colic issues for the past couple of weeks, but are taking it one day at a time!

Here are more updated pictures of my princess :)

So pretty :)

Dr. Bailga checking her at her 1 month visit

He says she will be a physician one day...mommy hopes! :)

Megan and I took the girls out to eat with us. It was more of a challenge than we thought!

Photographing A Photographer's Granddaughter

Why is it that my child is the hardest to photograph? I had imagined the most beautiful newborn portraits while I was pregnant that I would have done of her after she was born. Maybe my expectations were too high, who knows? For one thing, we would always try to take them of her naked...you know the sweet naked newborn ones...well, she HATES to be naked so she would scream at the top of her lungs! She also peed on the background not once, but twice. Seriously, does she not know this is our business? I had to have a pow wow with her. We were finally able to get some sweet pictures but either her diaper had to be on, or she had to be covered up! I never understood the stress of the mom's bringing their children in to be photographed until I became a mommy. I now COMPLETELY understand! :)

Here are a few of the successful ones...

Life With A Newborn

First of all, I am trying to get better with this "blog" idea so be patient with me! :)
I can honestly say my life has completely changed as of August 14, 2009. I would say it changed as of December 30, 2008 (when I found out I was pregnant) but it really didn't COMPLETELY change until my daughter was born. I never imagined I would be able to love this much! Its an amazing feeling to wake up every day and be somebody's MOMMY! I love every second of every day and I try my best to soak it all in. I have taken probably 2,000+ pictures of her and she is just 3 weeks old today! I bought a video camera too so that I can capture all of the sweet moments :) Savanah has already changed so much in just 3 weeks. She was so tiny when she was born (6 lbs 1 oz) and in just 3 weeks has really started to fill out more. I can tell mostly in her stomach, legs and sweet cheeks! At her 2 week appt she weighed 6 lbs 9 oz. We go back in another week for her 1 month check up. I am interested to see how much she will weigh then! Dr.Baliga is her pediatrician. LOVE LOVE LOVE him!

A little more about Savanah...
1. She LOVES to be swaddled in a blanket
2. Follows my voice when she hears it :)
3. Sleeps with Mommy (I know I know...already spoiled)
4. HATES to be naked
5. At this point, can't decide if she likes bathtime or not. She has some nights she LOVES it, and some nights she HATES it!
6. Her name is spelled with 1 "n"!!! I have already begun to see she will have problems with this in the future. Yes, I did mainly get her name from SAVANNAH GA (seeing all the signs on the way to visit my sister in Warner Robins GA since she moved there when I was 4) but decided to spell it different. Her middle name was just a favorite and there again, decided to make it unique by spelling it "Karsyn". I thought the "k" and "y" made it look more girly :)
7. She LOVES her paci. There is ONE in particular that is her favorite (I think its a MAM name brand). I will be in deep doo doo if I lose it!

There will be many many more updates to come in the future! I promise to post pics of her first 3 weeks in another blog!
